The Quality Fund is an alternative investment fund designed to invest in a carefully selected group of outstanding companies. Its investment strategy is based on the principles of Value Investing as outlined by Graham & Dodd, with a strong focus on the most promising ideas of so-called Superinvestors.
The fund follows a concentrated approach: Typically, over 40% of the fund's assets are allocated to the top five positions, with individual company weightings kept below 20%. The fund never holds more than 20 positions at any given time.
With the Quality Fund, Ermal Alili offers qualified investors access to investment ideas that are otherwise reserved for exclusive circles. Some of those superinvestors work exclusively for family offices or similar institutions, who do serve solely the interest of their institutions and do not offer solutions for external investors.
A key component of our selection process is the systematic analysis of superinvestor portfolios. Using advanced data analysis, particularly by reviewing 13F filings, we identify overlaps, portfolio weights, and new positions. Based on these insights, we develop a concentrated portfolio of undervalued, high-quality companies. We focus specifically on the investment ideas of the top 20 superinvestors.
Our approach combines data-driven analysis with the timeless principles of classic value investing: we stay firmly within our circle of competence and prioritize a “margin of safety”.
The objective is to significantly outperform major stock indices in the long run – but not by chasing relative market performance. Instead, the focus is on sustainable, absolute returns, with a particular emphasis on preserving and growing the capital over time.
